World Famous Randy’s Donuts Serves Up Sweet Franchise Opportunity Nationwide

INGLEWOOD, CA – Building on America’s sweet tooth, Randy’s Donuts, the most recognized and iconic donut shop in the world, is gearing up for nationwide expansion with the announcement of its highly-anticipated franchise opportunity. Fueled by its ever-growing pop culture influence, the brand is positioned for aggressive development throughout the country and internationally, which will be seeded by plans to have more than a dozen corporate locations open throughout Southern California in the next year.
For nearly 60 years, Randy’s has been a taste, pop-culture and architectural icon: Its donuts are handmade daily with proprietary, highest-quality ingredients and mixes. The business has been featured in countless movies, television shows and music videos such as Jimmy Kimmel Live! with Christina Aguilera, Iron Man 2, Futurama, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and the MTV Movie Awards. Earlier this year, Randy’s partnered with Nike and the LA Rams to promote the team’s Super Bowl appearance, and starting in June, donut lovers will be able to purchase limited edition TOMS shoes and apparel inspired by the famed donut shop. Randy’s signature 32-foot novelty architecture donut sits atop the original Los Angeles shop and is a top tourist stop, attracting thousands of customers to pose for photos.
“From our contribution to pop culture to our mission to give back to the community, Randy’s sits in an enviable and unique position in the donut world. We are ecstatic to now launch the franchise opportunity and bring Randy’s to cities across the nation,” said Mark Kelegian, President of Randy’s Donuts. “While gourmet and other local shops have popped up to cash in on donuts’ demand, no one else offers the breadth of 50 varieties of handmade, proprietary choices, catering to cost-conscious and indulgent donut lovers.”
Kelegian, a Los Angeles-area entrepreneur and former attorney, author and expert, purchased Randy’s in 2015 to franchise the beloved concept with his family. He says Randy’s receives multiple requests every week from people asking if they can open their own shop through franchising.
Randy’s currently has four locations in the greater Los Angeles area – Inglewood, Century City, El Segundo and Hollywood. Corporate development will continue throughout Los Angeles, the Inland Empire and Orange Country, including stores in Downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Pasadena and more. The brand will debut in Downey, CA in June with a 24-hour, drive-thru and walk-up freestanding store that will have Randy’s signature donut on the roof. Randy’s has also inked deals to bring Randy’s word-famous donuts to the Philippines and South Korea in 2019.
Handmade donuts at Randy’s are never frozen and are made fresh every day. Varieties include the classics – glazed, devil’s food, and chocolate raised, deluxe – crullers, buttermilk and old fashioned, fancy – apple fritter, jelly filled and cinnamon roll, as well as premium – Nutella™, red velvet ganache and s’mores. Randy’s Donuts also offers delivery, catering and a full-service coffee program in addition to other beverages.
Randy’s is targeting franchisees passionate about donuts with previous food service ownership or operating experience and a desire to open multiple units. The total initial investment for a franchise ranges from $360,000 to $526,000 for an in-line location. Kiosks, in-line and drive-thru sites are all available, ranging from 300 to 2,500 square feet. Randy’s is providing franchisees full-service, four-week in-person training at the Inglewood shop and office, teaching key components such as management, marketing, site selection and production. Franchisees will also receive on-location opening training, store setup and ongoing assistance.
About Randy’s Donuts
Based in Inglewood and with four California locations, Randy’s Donuts is the most recognized donut shop in the world and one of the most iconic locations in Los Angeles, attracting visitors from around the world to take pictures of the giant rooftop donut. Immediately recognized as the landmark building from appearances in movies, music videos and television shows, Randy’s has consistently been named one of the top donut shops in the country for 60 years and the most-reviewed and highest-rated donut shop on Yelp and similar sites. ZIPS Dry Cleaners Headed To Atlanta With 20 New Locations

GREENBELT, MD. – ZIPS Dry Cleaners, the rapidly expanding dry cleaning franchise – known for its same-day, one-price business model – has signed a development deal for 20 locations set to open throughout Atlanta over the next five years.
The stores will be owned and operated by business partners Allan Boomer and Tiffany Hawkins. Both entrepreneurs have positions at Momentum Advisors, a company founded by Allan Boomer. No strangers to franchising, the business partners own multiple ZIPS locations, as well as other businesses.
“I have lived in Atlanta on two occasions in my adult life and I love the area for so many reasons,” said Tiffany Hawkins. “After opening a few locations in ZIPS’ home market of Maryland-D.C.-Virginia, we were ready to break ground in a new market and there was no question that Atlanta was our first choice. I know Atlanta. Again, I love Atlanta; and the people of this city deserve a one-price, high-capacity dry cleaner that is modern, service-oriented and focused on cutting costs — without cutting the quality.”
At ZIPS, a customer can have any item of clothing dry cleaned for $2.29. It doesn’t matter if the item is a necktie, a coat or a pair of pants, the price is $2.29, 60 percent less than the national average. Garments are also cleaned on-site, allowing for same-day service.
“Since becoming a ZIPS franchisee in April 2016,” said Allan Boomer. “My partners and I have been involved in some of the most successful new dry cleaning stores in the company. We are extremely excited about the opportunity to bring ZIPS to a thriving new market. In analyzing the competitive landscape, Atlanta was the No. 1 market on our radar. It is a great market with great people. Our team has long ties to the region and we are really looking forward to building a significant presence in Atlanta.”
In today’s increasingly “green-conscious” society, ZIPS is leading the way in the search for new environmentally-friendly practices, such as its’ use of 100 percent biodegradable plastic bags and its’ hanger recycling program. ZIPS recycles thousands of hangers each year and focuses on continuing to reduce water usage and waste production.
“ZIPS is pleased to announce that Franklin Morgan Capital has agreed to introduce ZIPS Dry Cleaners to the Atlanta Market” ZIPS CEO Drew Ritger said. “The managing partners, Tiffany Hawkins and Allan Boomer, are excited to introduce this new investment into the Atlanta market. Atlanta is one of the top markets targeted for growth by ZIPS Franchising LLC. ZIPS expects new stores to open in the near future in Portland, Oregon, Chicago, Cincinnati, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and Indianapolis. We’ll see continued growth in California, Florida, Maryland, Texas and Virginia. The company is dedicated to becoming a national garment care brand and No. 1 in market share in each of the markets it serves.”
Today, ZIPS has more than 50 locations open and operating throughout the Mid-Atlantic and as far as Texas and California. The company also has a total active franchise pipeline that stands at more than 250 stores, all of which are slated to open over the next several years.

Fitness Machine Technicians Signs 25th Franchisee

MALVERN, PA – Fitness Machine Technicians, specialists in the maintenance and repair of exercise equipment for fitness centers, corporate gyms, universities, hotels, apartment buildings and private residences, announced it has signed its 25th franchisee, set to open this spring in Boston.

“We are thrilled that our franchise concept has been so well received,” said Don Powers, founder and owner of Fitness Machine Technicians. “Our franchisees see the same opportunity I saw when I started the business more than 15 years ago. And they are taking our brand and successfully introducing it across the country.”

Prior to launching Fitness Machine Technicians, Powers spent 20 years in the exercise industry – owning gyms, selling corporate fitness, and owning fitness retail stores. When he owned gyms, he hated when members would press him about a broken piece of equipment.

“I couldn’t stand being the owner and a customer coming up to me and saying, ‘Don, when is that treadmill going to be fixed?’ and me trying to get a service company on the phone,” said Powers.

The landscape was, and still is, dominated by do-it-all mom-and-pop service providers, who not only took jobs to repair exercise machines, but washers and dryers, refrigerators, and lawn mowers, too.

Powers saw an opportunity so he bought a side business fixing treadmills, ellipticals, etc. Long story short, after selling his stores and gyms, the service business took off.

After building Fitness Machine Technicians, he decided to take his blueprint and franchise the model across the country.

“I started slowly so I could test the franchise concept,” said Powers. “After signing two franchisees near our headquarters and learning from the experience, I announced the concept and we began selling last spring. It’s a tremendous feeling to see other entrepreneurs become part of our team, and have the same passion and excitement I have.”

In the past 12 months, Fitness Machine Technicians has signed 20 franchisees representing 42 territories.

“We are generating a ton of interest from the franchise community,” added Powers. “We hope to sign our 50th franchisee by year end.”

About Fitness Machine Technicians

Founded in 2002 by Don Powers, Fitness Machine Technicians offers service/repair and maintenance services on a variety of fitness equipment on a contract and non-contract basis. The company is headquartered outside of Philadelphia and currently has locations in 15 states.
